Make Ahead Refrigerator Oatmeal.
Having a healthy breakfast ready in the morning makes the morning rush a little smoother and keeps you from running out the door without enough calories to sustain you. We all keep hearing about how oatmeal is one of those super foods we should eat more of, but I have always had a hard time getting the consistency just right. When I learned about refrigerator oatmeal, I thought, “now that, I can eat!” It is easy and so yummy.
You can vary the recipe to your liking, but this is how I make it: 1/3 cup old fashion oats; 1/3 cup skim milk; honey (drizzle or about 1 tsp); cinnamon; nutmeg; and blueberries (or other berry/fruit). Place all ingredients in a mason jar (or other sealable container) give it a little shake and put it in the fridge. In the morning, give it another little stir and enjoy! Yum!
The only thing hard about Refrigerator Oatmeal is remembering to make it the night before.
